The Guilt of Choosing Myself

One possible reading is that you are expending energy outwardly, protecting yourself through independence or intellectual control, and being invited to acknowledge feelings that have not had enough space. There is also..

Tarot spread on the altar table: The Sun reversed, King of Swords reversed, Three of Swords upright

This spread feels particularly on point today. I've spent the last few days completely immersed in a creative project that I'm genuinely excited about, perhaps a little too immersed. Late nights have turned into early mornings, and while the inspiration has been flowing, my energy hasn't exactly kept up.

What's interesting is that, for once, I've put something of my own at the top of the priority list. I'm so accustomed to showing up for other people and their visions that making space for mine feels both exciting and strangely uncomfortable. There's a little guilt in choosing myself, even when I know it's something I need.

Maybe that's what this spread is reminding me: finding balance doesn't mean dimming my enthusiasm or abandoning the things that light me up. It means learning to honour my own energy along the way.

And there's plenty to look forward to. A wedding performance tomorrow, a gig on Saturday, and our annual pumpkin patch adventure with friends. Life is full of good things, and I want to have the energy to enjoy them.

A little less guilt, a little more grace, and perhaps a little more sleep. ✨
